Ghost of Christmas Past : The Keeper of Candlelight

By Scott A. Johnson

BOOK ONE-The Ghost of Christmas Past: The Keeper of Candlelight

What was once kindled does not wholly die.

Charlotte is seven years old, invisible to London, and entirely certain of one thing: even the smallest light matters.

On a bitter Christmas Eve, she makes a single act of selfless love-the kind the world rarely notices and never repays. It costs her everything.

It gives her eternity.

She awakens as the Spirit of Christmas Past: the Keeper of Candlelight, entrusted with every memory humanity chooses to forget. She walks unseen through lives suspended between regret and redemption, carrying what others refuse to hold-forgotten kindnesses, buried wounds, moments that could still change everything.

But memory is not gentle. And not everyone wants to remember.

When Charlotte is called to confront a soul hardened past all reason, she faces the question at the heart of her existence: Can light save those who refuse to see it?

The Ghosts of Christmas Trilogy begins here-before Scrooge, before the spirits, before the night that changed everything. With the girl who first kept the flame.

For readers of Fredrik Backman, Susanna Clarke, and the enduring moral world of Charles Dickens.
