A play in 3 acts, set in 189o in the western United States. The Christian Messiah reappears as a Native Paiute at the foot of the Sierra Mountains in Nevada. His message of nonviolence & peace draws tens of thousands of devotees & his spiritual circle dance reaches to the heavens. Dancers connect to lost loved ones & walk an enlightened path to resurrection & utopia. Fearing a united uprising in the west, the U.S. government targets prominent Native leaders - including Sitting Bull & Spotted Elk - & begins aggressive military action that culminates in assassinations & the massacre at Wounded Knee creek.
