An Original Fariy Tale

Beautiful. Just Beautiful. I honestly have never heard of Erick Gray until i saw he have published a book with one of my favorite authors, K'Wan. I know about K'Wan work, but i did not know about Gray's work. So i saw that my local library had ghetto heaven and at first i thought... great another urban tale. Dude deals drugs, dude gets a hot chick, and they go ride or die. so i picked it up and read the synopsis and saw that this book was something different than what i am use to. And i can tell you, it was one of the best books i have read. I had read it three times within the time i had it at the library and i bought it over the internet. Great work. I believe that Erick Gray proven to us that we are never too old to believe in fairy tales.

Please read this book....

This book was like Crash meets Pretty Woman...it was excellent. The author really took you through different types of characters and diversity and explained the different walks of life that each individual was going through. Toni, I loved her character and her relationship with the totally opposite and rich boy, Mathew. It goes to show that opposite does attract, and just because you're from differen sides of the track, love is still the same. I felt so sorry for Vinita, at first I hated her character and thought that she was a terrible friend, but as the book read on and you saw what had happened to her in the past, it definitely explained why she felt the way she felt, and why she was acting like a straight up bitch. She had a terrible secret that she held within her for seven years, and when she finally found love...it was just snatched away from her like life itself. And Tec, he was straight gangsta and I wanted to know what happened to him at the end, cuz the author kinda left you hanging with his character, so I believe there will be a sequal to this book. But overall, Ghetto Heaven is an excellent, excellent read, and the author broke down so many things in this book that I actually read it in two days straight. It was hard to put down and I love his style of writing. He is so real and tells wonderful and thougthful stories. Mr. Gray, keep doing your thang. You are truly talanted and blessed with the pen.

Don't Sleep On This One

This was a good story a little long but definately a must read. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Although Tec and his boys were off the chain they represent many of today's African-American men. I really felt for Toni and all she went through to take care of her mother and be there for her brother. Matthew was adorable but a little too soft at times. I was screaming "Man Up" dude during many of his intercations with his "fiance". At first I couldn't understand what was going on with Vinita's attitude but once you read her story and found out what happened to her you will completely understand why she's the way she is. I can't say much about Tec, but he keeps you wondering what he's going to do next. Loved this book and the story. Highly recommend this one to everyone who likes "Urban" drama

READ!

This is one of my favorite books about life and struggling. This book shows the reality of life's challenges and gives hope for a happy ending. Read this book and you won't be disappointed.

This is an instant CLASSIC. Classic, you hear me?!

I started reading this book at 2:30 this morning and finished it four hours later. I didn't even want to get up to go to the bathroom. The story blew me away, I'm not going to say what it's about cause it's already been said, but I will say that it moves fast, it's hilarious, thought provoking, a tear jerker and VERY serious at the same time! Too many of us dismiss this contemporary urban fiction as a trashy fad, and while some authors' work DOES leave a lot to be desired, Erick Gray certainly is not one of them. Since I work in publishing, it was hard to ignore some of the typos but it didn't take away from how POWERFUL this story is. In fact, it almost ADDED to the realness of the book because it was straight up RAW. Many authors exploit the plight our community is in to make a dollar; again, Erick Gray certainly is not one of them. He tells a gripping and heartbreaking tale of poverty, despair, consequence, death, love and hope while leaving the reader entertained but also with a very compelling message that must not be ignored. I am going to tell everyone I know about this book - K'wan and AlSaadiq Banks are my other two favorites in this genre and I urge you to check them out as well for some indisputable, knock-you-on-yo-azz TALENT!!
