Getting Back to San Angelo

Something is bothering Christopher Bennett, and not just in a figurative sense. The casual observer would see him as an unremarkable boy living a nondescript life in the West Texas town of San Angelo, Texas. But there is much more to Christopher Bennett, although he is wholly unware of his own importance to those around him and the region in general. He's doing his best to have fun and maintain relationships with the other neighborhood kids, much like any fifth-grade boy straddling decades. However, his unsettled state of mind won't rest, eventually giving way to outright fear as something sinister stalks him and just about everybody that he gets close to.

Chris and his close friends will employ various tactics with hopes of escaping the dark entity, but it will persist. They'll try to hide but it will find them. They'll fight as best they know how but will seemingly lose ground at every turn, initially having no real appreciation for the determination of the ancient being that draws them deeper and deeper into a spiritual battle. Time will race forward from the late seventies into the mid-nineties as they all try to understand what is after them, and why. Ultimately, the social fabric of their tightknit circle will be stretched and broken, and their ability to stand in the overwhelming face of evil will diminish. The enemy will get the upper hand, and will seem to have won, until they regroup and confront it together. Finally their faith will be challenged as they take a stand -- together - and will drive the evil back to hell before it erases the entire city of San Angelo.
