Abiding Life: A Definition:When we abide in Christ we allow His nature and character to live itself out through us. Some call this the exchanged life, exchanging Christ's life for ours. Some call it having Christ as life. Whichever term is used, it simply means to be filled with the Holy Spirit at any given moment, so that the fruit of the Spirit (the Godly nature and character of His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self- control) flow out through us and impact every circumstance we find ourselves in and every personal encounter we have. We are not called to live a set of rules called "The Christian Life." Instead we are called to express a quality and character of life that results from allowing Christ to live His nature out through us. This study is intended to be a guide so each of us can say with Paul, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." It is a study of how to experience the Abiding Life.
