Where was this book when I was 18!

Wow! Jan Geiger is like the wise aunt, directing you down the right path, all the while letting you think it was your idea! This book was a gift, and I was expecting a mind-numbing lecture demonstrating that I could make a million dollars if only I could survive until I reached age 112. I couldn't have been more wrong! Once I started reading, I couldn't put down the book! I love the real world examples, the workable spending plan (Note: NOT a budget!) and the summaries of achievable step-by-step actions I need to take on my road to riches. Jan explains not only what, but why, and she shows me that even I can have it all. It's like getting a pep talk from your best friend. A month ago my goal was simple financial security. Now I want financial freedom--for myself, my family, and my friends. The author mentions a desire to be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, to help get the word out to young people that they can be rich too if they start early and follow a few easy steps. I hope she gets that interview. Oprah would approve of Jan's selfless use of her riches. This book is perfect for high school and college students, now, before they get into financial trouble. My daughter already has her own copy of this distinguished work. To my nieces and nephews in college--guess what you'll be getting for your next birthdays! To the author--thanks for lighting a fire under my assets!

Imagine all the mistakes I could have avoided!" Well, now at least I can advise my children - and certainly my grandchildren - to buy it and heed its advice. Geiger writes in engaging terms, without jargon or intimidation and with a great deal of optimism. "Yes," she says, "you can become rich too. I did it and with my recipe you can also!" Full of practical points and action steps (buying a house or car, having a pre-marital financial plan, smart and simple savings tactics), this is a book that deserves to be on everyone's reading shelf, and taken down and perused often.
