Gerard McShane is a modern-day bard, gifted, impassioned in composing and remembering real lifeworld stories and retelling them with insight, irony and satire. He has beguiled his children with them in versions they might have understood amidst what they might have experienced when they were very young, almost like family fairy tales, to when they became older as the stories matured and became entrenched with life lessons.
