George Floyd was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and raised in Houston, Texas, in a close-knit community called Cuney Homes, nestled in the heart of the historic Third Ward. Raised by his devoted mother, Larcenia "Cissy" Floyd-the soul of their home-George grew up surrounded by love, faith, and the values of kindness, respect, and resilience.

From a young age, George stood out-not only for his towering height but for his generous spirit and even bigger dreams. He imagined becoming a Supreme Court justice, a professional athlete, or someone who could make life better for others. He often told his teachers and friends that he wanted to "touch the world."
