surprizingly excellent!

I bought this after I bought the grill. Having tried the recipes that came with the george foreman grill and finding them excellent, I decided to invest in a whole george forman cookbook. The marinades are excellent! Many have few ingredients and maximum taste. While they are helpful if you have the grill they are excellent even if you don't. Marinades are a wonderful way to grill, in general. Some of them lend themselves even to panfrying, depending on the cut of meat or poulty. While you cant use bone-in meats in the GF grill, you can use these recipes with bone-in cuts and use an alternate cooking method (grilling, broiling or baking for chicken). This was a big surprize! At first I thought it was going to gimick-y and just a cookbook capitalizing on the GF name. But it is a *study* cookbook in its own right. excellent.

Love the grill! The book is not bad either.

I was surprised by comments that this book isn't relevant to the George Foreman grill and that it doesn't tell you how long to cook on it. I don't think this is true at all. Equipment aside, grilling mostly involves a good rub or marinade for the meat and grilling it for the right length of time. I have this book and every recipe clearly tells you how to prepare the rub/marinade and how long the preparation and grilling times are! In fact, the preparation and cooking times are printed in orange ink and are hard to miss since the ingredients and recipe steps are in black ink. It should be noted however that these preparation and cooking times are printed at the *end* of each recipe, not the beginning. There are two cooking times listed for almost every recipe - one for cooking on a charcoal grill, AND one for cooking on an electric grilling machine (obviously, the G.F. grill.) These grilling times are repeated within the recipe steps and there are tips on how to watch/test for doneness. Only four recipes aren't suitable for the electric grill (Texas Beef Ribs, BBQ Drumsticks, Roasted Garlic and Roasted Red Peppers). So don't think this book doesn't have instructions for the G.F. grill, it does. This book has about 35 pages of general grilling and healthy eating information and about 130 pages of recipes. There are recipes for burgers and sandwiches, kabobs, steaks, spareribs, pork and lamb chops, chicken breasts, seafood and vegetables. I haven't tried all the recipes but my husband and I enjoyed the ones I've made so far. The recipes are relatively easy to prepare even if you're not a gourmet chef. [ I'm not! ;) ] As with any recipe, you just need to have the right ingredients on hand, most of which you probably already have if you like to cook (herbs and spices, vinegars, honey, mustard, lemon juice, garlic, wine, soy sauce...) There are a few fancier recipes that require a bit more time and effort, but the majority of the recipes are simple and can be done in 15-30 minutes (not counting marinade time.) PS: The grill was made by Salton in 1994 and George Foreman started endorsing it in 1995. This book came out later in 1996, and I do think it was written with the grill in mind. (In fact, my copy of the book came free with my jumbo grill!) I think they just made the book more general so that people without the G.F. grill can use it too. I'm happy with this book but if you're unsure, check it out first at the library!

The Grill is great- The book is great too

I love George Foreman's grill too, however I think that most people assumed that the book went with his popular grill. I think you will find that the book is awesome if you don't place any "grill expectations" on it. He is fun, and don't let anyone tell you this is not a good book.

Grade A Beefy Fun!

I love this book so very much! On the corner of 59th and 43rd in New York we grill burgers and use this as a cookbook. We street folk love those Foreman burgers. And if my name says Street it is short for Street Rapper McGregor. I saved up my Rappin' money for 11 years to buy this book. My homeboy Street Rapper McNeil buys the burgers with his Rappin' money. If you see my posse George Foreman around Harlem or Cracktown tell him to give me a ring on the flip side.

It was excellent.

George Foreman's book was a real delight to read and to cook from. The recipes were easy to make and did not take a lot of time. You could also find most of the ingredients easily. Of course having the George Foreman Grill helps tremendously.
