Recurring concerns about the environmental fate and potential health impacts of radionuclides continue to focus interest on understanding the mechanisms controlling their transport in soils and their biological availability. This work builds on both basic science and empirical engineering studies to provide a mechanistic approach to facilitate risk assessment and cost-effective remediation procedures.
