G'day.

My name is Christos Harisopoulos - though you might know me better as Senator Papahatziharalambrous. I'm 57 years old, born and raised in Melbourne with a Hellenic (Greek) heritage that runs deep. I'm a larrikin, a troublemaker, a bloke who's never fit neatly into boxes - and I bloody well never will.

But this album isn't about me.

It's about her.

My partner, Sharonlee, is a proud Wiradjuri Woman. She's walked this ancient land almost as long as I've been alive, carrying stories older than empires, wounds deeper than any war, and a love stronger than any hatred I've ever known.
When we came together - a Wite bloke from the city and a Blak woman from the river - we didn't just fall in love. We built a bridge. And on that bridge, we started having conversations this country desperately needs to hear.

The book of lyrics for this album is one of those conversations.

It's raw. It's uncomfortable. It's angry, joyful, painful, and hopeful all at once. It refuses to look away from our nation's darkest truths, but it also refuses to let hate win.

GENOCIDE isn't just an album title - it's a word this country has avoided for too long. We're not here to shame you. We're here to remind you that truth is the only foundation strong enough to build unity on.

Sharonlee and I don't care if you're Blak or Wite, Labor/Liberal or One Nation, city or bush. We care if you're human. And if you are, this album is for you.

So sit down. Put your phone away. Pour yourself a drink or make a cuppa.
And listen.

Not because we're preaching.
But because this land - our land - deserves us to finally hear each other.
