The approach is based on fundamental results of the research obtained in two main areas: in differential geometry (DG) of surfaces, and in kinematics (K) of rigid body in three-dimensional Euclidian space E3. Commonly referred to as DG/K-based method of part surface generation, this method is an extremely powerful tool for solving a plurality of problems in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
