Gatherings' poetry makes ordinary things magical. Dan's poetry gets to the essence of things to reveal them.

Gatherings, by Dan Fitzgerald follows his superb debut collection weatherman. The author could not have chosen a better title. Fitzgerald draws his inspiration from where he lives, from the places, people, and experiences that have shaped his life and informed his world view. This is down-to-earth relatable poetry. I was especially moved by these lines from "Ever Last", "I held the hand of a child / while walking in a park, / told a woman I loved her / with everything in my heart. / The smiles they gave me / are the only things I have / that will ever last." Gatherings is a collection destined to stand the test of time and "ever last."
