When our 5 kids were young, they often asked me to tell them a story. It could be about my childhood, about something that happened at work, or a made-up story. But no matter what it was about, it was easy because I'm a storyteller. When our grandkids came along, they also enjoyed my stories. So, they would gather around, ganging up on me, and insist that I tell them stories. Sometimes for the grandkids, I added features about talking animals. Sometimes, it was only about animals. Many of our 37 grandkids are now adults, but they want their kids to hear my stories, too. Since I cannot be everywhere across the country with them, and no one knows how long the Lord will allow us to live on earth, they ganged up on me in a different way: they want my stories in print. And since I've had many interesting experiences throughout my various vacations, their primary request was for a book of stories about my life. Some are sad, some are humorous, all are true, and they all are exciting - one way or another - and pockmarked with teaching points. Therefore, I dedicate this book to our 37 grandkids - and many great-grandkids as they come along. When they and their children and grandchildren begin studying about their ancestors, perhaps this volume will become a note of interest for them.
