Master Gardener Certified

Unlike some of the previous reviewers, I have attended the Master Gardener Program in Flagler County, and highly recommend this book. Not only is it thorough, it is to the point and easy to research. If I had this book when I first landscaped my house, I would not have made the mistake of letting someone else make plant selections for me. Her book points out what plants are salt tolerant, drought tolerant, need shade or full sun. Even better, there is an actual picture of the plant! How could you pssibly go wrong?

Extremely Helpful and Pertinent

I have used Gardening and Landscaping for everything from identifying garden pests, finding which plants will tolerate salt near the Intracoastal Waterway, and what I should be doing each month to keep my landscape in good shape. When I moved to this area, I bought several books -- but they were about gardening in Florida in general. This book is about our area (central -- in Palm Coast)and includes wonderful photos and helpful information.

Gardening and Landscaping in Central Florida by Marlys Bell

All my Master Gardener friends agree with me that this is the book we had been waiting for! If we had had this wonderful, user friendly volume when we first came to this area, we would have saved ourselves from committing many costly and time consuming mistakes. We love to recommend it to frustrated newcomers seeking the ultimate guide.

Great Help for the Novice Gardener

When I moved to Florida a few years ago, I found no gardening resources that were particularly helpful to my immediate region in Florida. Gardening and Landscaping in Florida is a valuable handbook for the novice gardener. The photographs and detailed suggestions are a life-saver for those who want an environmentally-friendly landscape around their home.

A comprehensive and useful reference

What a welcomed all-inclusive addition to Florida's horticultural knowledge base! This magnificently comprehensive and useful reference guide is a boon to those interested in the particulars of gardening unique to the central part of the state. It was so helpful to have all of this information, guidance, and direction so efficiently and pleasantly offered to us under a single cover, and with excellent photographic representation! As a bonus, Marlys Bell's book makes a wonderful house gift for the newly relocated gardener.
