When Galen McBride told his wife he no longer loved her Lydia moved out of his home. Rumors began to fly with the citizens of Bluff City quickly taking sides. Some blamed Lydia McBride saying a woman should never abandon her husband. Others placed the blame squarely on Galen. After all, he was a man Galen did not remember telling Lydia he no longer loved her. It seemed the more he tried to make his wife happy the greater his failure. Lydia only wanted to love Galen. Discovering she was not the woman he loved Lydia decided to give Galen up. After all, she was from Poverty Row and he was from Snob Hill. Her mother had warned her not to fall in love. Lydia believing love was enough did not listen.
