"Gian Democracies" is a powerful book. It explains and questions our need for perpetual economic growth-that over time can only lead to ecological disaster. It explains why our present economic system depends on such growth in order to provide jobs and keep our economy going. It suggests ways we can move in this direction. This is a good book. It should be widely read, and if taken seriously, could help turn us in the right direction for a sustainable future.
