Designed for students who have already taken an introductory course in metallurgy or materials science, this advanced text describes how structures control the mechanical properties of metals.
This is an excellent text for an introduction to physical metallurgy. In its popularity it is perhaps second only to the famous text by Reed-Hill (now Reed-Hill and Abbaschian). Its coverge is limited compared to that of Reed-Hill (for example it doesn't contain chapters on creep and fracture). But the topics discussed are usually at a higher standard than Reed-Hill. There are nice problems at the end of each chapters, most of them reasonably challenging. If you are connceted with physical metallurgy you should definitely get a copy of this book.
