The book starts with a discussion on relations since functions are cases of relations. The second chapter deals with the definition of function as a relation between sets of any type, including numerical ones. This chapter provides the foundations to study real functions in the third chapter. Special attention is given to building graphs and how to use them to get information about the functions. Chapter 4 focuses on two of the most used real functions in Calculus: the linear and quadratic functions. The following chapter is devoted to the transcendental functions and a brief presentation of other set of real functions that are of frequent use in applications. The last chapter tackles arithmetic operations with real functions, the determination of domains, and examples of applications to economic problems.
