A Bounty of Boxes to Fashion From Fabric & Paper - Quick and easy no-sew techniques for making beautiful origami boxes with our easy-to-follow how-to illustrations and photos - Make in a variety of sizes - and have fun embellishing them There is no limit to the ways you can use these impressive boxes: pretty storage, home d cor accents, gift boxes, party favors...Inspired by a traditional folded Japanese box (masu), the boxes can be funky, lavish, or elegant depending on the materials you choose. The techniques in this book take origami from a charming pursuit to something useful as well as fun. Wonderful book, a new approach to origami boxes

I've been doing origami boxes for many years (see my reviews of Tomoko Fuse's books like Origami Boxes and Fabulous Origami Boxes) and I couldn't pass up the chance to try something new! This is essentially doing origami with stiffened fabric and the results can be quite neat. The book is just beautifully done, with all full color photos of the boxes being folded and easy to follow instructions. You can make a variety of sizes, but typically they come out considerably bigger than most of my origami boxes with paper do. The biggest challenge I found with getting perfect boxes was getting the stiffened fabric perfectly flat, otherwise you will have a hard time getting it cut into a proper square which is always essential to getting good results with origami. The book includes size information for different boxes for each design, information on finishing them with dividers, interfacing for stiffer sides, etc. I am still playing with what gives me the best results, as there is a lot of variations to try in here! And while these boxes in this book are all done using one large piece of fabric for top and bottom, you can easily use the same techniques and cut smaller squares to do modular "Fuse" boxes as well. Overall, I highly recommend this book for anyone that has an interest in making boxes.

I was really anticipating the arrival of this book. I was not disappointed when it finally arrived. The boxes in this book are beautiful. There are many pictures to help you achieve stunning results. As you go through the book, the boxes do get harder, but with some patience you can succeed in making these wonderful little treasures. I would highly recommend this book!
