If you liked The Straits Time Collection "1" and "2", then you will also enjoy this volume. The book gives a description of each of 140 common characters. Each character description includes a cartoon to help the reader recall the etymology of each character, which can also help novices simply to remember the character. As well, a number of examples of how the character is used in compound phrases are offered. This is the third of a three-part series, and like "2", does not offer the informative Intro and Preface that "1" contains. TSTC "1" covers 173 characters and "2" covers 156, so these 140 are the next most common characters, and not as basic as those in "1" and "2".
