In the Angolan war, Portuguese farmers' lives are not worth a pinch of salt. The MPLA, with Cuban support, kill and mutilate the rural farmers and loot their property on the isolated farms.

Grace survives a fatal attack on her family. The pregnant woman, with her three-year-old daughter, flees into the bush to escape the attackers. Starving and exhausted, she and her daughter are rescued by four South African soldiers.

The soldiers assist her in getting to South-West-Africa where she is accepted as a refugee. She forms a strong bond with the soldiers before they part ways. The only people she felt she could trust had to return to Angola.

A woman alone, without a place to go, no family or possessions, she courageously takes control of her life and her beloved daughter's.

Grace loses everything. Will she ever achieve happiness and security again?
