A gripping and sometimes disturbing testimony

Full Circle: A Marine Rifle Company In Vietnam by William L. Buchanan is a powerful written and very personal memoir of serving in G Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment in 1966 during the Vietnam war. Jarring, vivid, and unflinching in its presentation of battlefield tension, bloodshed, death, and the wry absurdities of a military life, Full Circle is a gripping and sometimes disturbing testimony charged with the power of unfiltered human experience. Full Circle is very highly recommended reading and a welcome addition to the growing library of Vietnam War biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, and eye-witness accounts.
Full Circle is for every Marine a "must Read"

This book captures war a vividly as the story can be told....That last paragraph (page 225) left this reader with a long hard stare at the reality of war. "Never again would I experience cold, hunger, exhaustion, fright, courage, depression elation on the same scale." God Bless those Marines of 2/5 ... Any American who appreciates our Corps of Marines should read Full Circle. ... and God Bless you Bill Buchanan, for recording their deeds in such a splendid and vivid style. Buchanan is a gifted writer and quite a Marine. John Bates featured in this combat notebook makes one wonder where America secures such outstanding patriots. Hopefully, this will be on the Marine Corps Commandant's recommended reading list for all future Marines. No wonder, it was the last book Colonel Mitch Paige (Medal Of Honor-WWII) endorsed.
