The anomaly was two miles down below the Antarctic Ice. To find it, Gabriel had needed help, resorting to a bribe using technology of his own devising to gain the aid of a drilling company who already had drilling rights in Antarctica. Her only allies are a small cadre of Special Boat Service on a mission to combat piracy off the South American coastline, and when the freighter she is on is hijacked, they track the vessel up one of the Amazon river tributaries.
