A bit slow to be honest.

Understand that is trying to build suspense for the reveal of the thing or the creature but it takes quite a while before it even gets to anything remotely interesting. It finally picks up by the end of the book, but by that point I was just reading to finish the story. This version of the story does add a little bit more, but still it's pretty slow.
