Dogwood Donuts owner and amateur sleuth, Maggie Mission, is excited to scope out the city-wide yard sale to find something special for her grandson.

Looking forward to a leisurely afternoon of browsing, she heads to the sale, bags in hand, and is astonished when she sees a loud tangle of women grappling for possession of a figurine held by the unfortunate woman who is in the middle of the kerfuffle. Threats fly as the figurine holder tries to protect the item.

Maggie's initial astonishment turns to dismay when the woman holding the figurine drops dead, presumably of a heart attack. She's skeptical that the death was from natural causes, but her husband, the sheriff, gently suggests that she just let it go.
