My wife and I have this book and we love it. We've seen it for sale in heaps of shops recently. The recipes are fresh, tasty and healthy and really easy to prepare. Perfect for any family or individual. My favourite recipes from this book are the beautiful Smoked Trout dip (often make it for dinner and eat it on nice bread with a salad), the chocolate chip cookies, the risotto balls, the beef empanadas and the potato rosti with smoked salmon. I always encourage my wife to practice her wonderful cooking and she loves this book too!! I would most definitely buy it again - it would be a bargain at double the price.
5 star kitchen inspiration

At last a cookbook that inspires good home cooked food for even the businest family!! Living in Singapore I find this book a true gem. Great recipes, that although omit complicated ingredients and methods, certainly do not lack taste. Easy to reproduce, even the busiest "cook" will find this book full of inspirational food the whole family will love. I have found the freezing tips a fantastic addition, as I am now in the habbit of preparing twice the amount and freezing half for a later date when I am short of time or energy. I also just got my hands on the next Frost Bite, a book full of great ideas to feed the kids, while also giving mum and dad something to enjoy. And there is a fantastic party section, so your next kids birthday party can be prepared weeks in advance to prevent that "party day migraine" that I have had so many times before. Both books are highly recommended for anyone who wants to make life easy AND have great food.
Best OAMC and Freezer Cooking Cookbook I've Seen!!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
Just got this yesterday, and it is by far the best cookbook for frozen meals that I've seen. What I love about it is that unlike all the other ones in this category that I've looked at, the recipes here all generally call for whole natural foods, rather than, e.g., prepared and processed ingredients like canned cream-of-whatever soups or Velveeta cheese (cf. Don't Panic - Dinner's in the Freezer, etc.). The recipes look fantastic too, and some are quite sophisticated (like there is one for a wonderful-sounding risotto!) Also, it has more fish/seafood/vegetarian recipes than other books I've come across, and less ground beef (which I have trouble trusting because it's the most vulnerable from a food safety standpoint). And for the most part the recipes here seem very nutritious, not overloaded on greasy and salty ingredients like many other OAMC/freezer recipes. Also terrific is the variety of recipes. It doesn't just have dinner entrees but there are chapters on appetizers (great for entertaining), breakfast/brunch, lunch, afternoon tea (some nice dessert and baked goods recipes), dinner and desserts. The desserts look fantastic too! This is not actually a OAMC book, because it doesn't have shopping lists or mass bulk cooking plans, but could easily be used for that purpose. This book has actually gotten me really excited about making and freezing some meals for after my baby arrives! This book is true find if you are into good cooking but still need to make and freeze some meals for later use.
