As the argument goes back and forth, it touches on such topics as the origin of the universe, various alleged pieces of evidence for design, and the existence of laws of nature. The dialogues do not aim to "settle anything but rather to take readers far enough into an issue to understand some of its complexities and, hopefully, to set them thinking.
