He was an army officer from 1916 to 1920 and then Deputy Resident in Transjodran from 1927 to 37. This book is a collection of his Amman Memoirs 1947-1951 when he was serving as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom to The Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan in 1946 and played an important diplomatic role during the Arab-Israeli war.
