This is the third edition of a collection formerly entitled Sweet and Bitter Waters. The book contains 170 sutras - succinct and pithy bits of wisdom gathered as crumbs from under the tables of the wise (Sutra 17). These 'sages' wrote in such works as the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, the Tao Teh Ching and the Bible, the Dhamapada and the Cloud of unknowing. The sutras were inspired by such luminaries as Lau Tzu, Rumi, St. John of the Cross, Meister Eckhart, Julian of Norwich, Plato and Aristotle, Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, Heinrich Zimmer, Nietzsche, Richard Rohr, Ken Wilbur and Eckhart Tolle. Their ideas and some of the author's have been re-expressed in poetic prose. It's a book to dip into and savour; a book to revisit time and again; a book in which to find way markers to guide you on your journey. The ideas were freely received so the book should be free of charge, but its publication is being used to raise a little money for individual good causes that are outside of normal charitable foundations. All money raised will be donated in this way.
