He or she is the earthly shepherd of souls; this holds eternal implications, not to mention accountability to God Himself. There is an enormous requirement placed on those who are called to be shepherds-called to shepherd the people of God-and this requirement is still being met by many, regardless of the bad reports. And, also regardless of the bad reports, God-commissioned pastors and teachers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ must maintain the calling to shepherd the people of God.
