This book is the story of my professional journey, how I struggled through many countries to raise my children while building a career which was a far dream in the eyes of many including my late husband. From being a certified nursing assistant to my second doctorate MD degree in the USA. I also wanted to tell my story to encourage other women and youth that it can be done even if you start it late like I did. Lastly, I also wanted to share that you can beat the odds of being homeless or useless if you work hard and prove yourselves worthy.

Almost all the stories are my active recall of painful events, some happy moments and challenges that came my way. With all these events, I learned a lot about myself, the people around me, family and friends as well as my own community. I also came to understand my own family better, who was there for me and who was not. At the end of the day, I am very appreciative of all those who left a mark on me for good and bad, because they have directly or indirectly given me a lesson that has made me the woman that I am today.
