Mary Woods didn't get tenure.

She was smart, accomplished, and she failed - that's how she saw it, at least. After wallowing in her feelings, she dusted herself off and started looking for a plan b, and she found it.

Sea Port was a tiny southern town on the verge of collapse, looking to entice people to move to the middle of nowhere and start life anew.

Mary was one of those people.

After her move to Sea Port - with her cat, Cat-leen Cleaver, in tow - Mary starts her life over in Sea Port as a small town baker. Mary has made it her mission to get to know as many town residents as possible, and a few days before the opening of her new bakery, Confections, she meets Miguel Santos, the town's new police officer, and his good friend and fire chief, Billy Knox. She'd just wanted to offer some sweet treats from her shop, but their chemistry produces so much more.
