Colleen Coble sticks to Christian romance in her story, "From Russia with Love." Newer book by Coble have much more murder mystery and suspense involved. This story is a love story, the seeking of relationship, the devotion to a child, and the strict devotion to faith. It's all packed into 170 fast reading pages, but with characters and activities woven together in the same fashion as the newer mystery stories. Twin A sets up Twin B with a bride-to-be from Russia via an internet beginning. Oops, the beautiful Russian blond has a child. The details of the difficulty of gaining a Russian wife for an American are real. My son, once a Hoosier, married a Russian, and the requirements and red-tape are strict. Coble provides a realistic situation, even though, because it's listed as a Romance novel, the outcome is somewhat predictable. Romance novels are supposed to end happy. 5-stars are warranted due to the process of love vs loss, and many mixed emotions between characters, all so enticingly written by the author. The book holds your interest, and leaves you celebrating the finale. Coble gets you where you expected to be at the end, but she makes you take a road less traveled. Another positive, since the book is now available secondhand, it makes it much easier & less expensive. At least at our county library, Colleen Coble books are always checked out. Look over her other books. "Anathema" also takes place in the author's home state, Indiana, just like "From Russia with Love."
Another Great Book by the Queen of Romantic Suspense!

Colleen Coble never fails to produce wonderful stories with real life characters, tense situations and lots of faith. The theme of this one is learning to trust God with things that as a non-Christian you tried to handle alone, and realizing how very much God loves each one of us. Tatiana comes to America from a poverty-stricken life in Russia, bringing her adorable little Irina to a better life, and willingly doing whatever she feels she must to protect Irina, ignoring the fact that a loving God is just waiting to take over her burdens. The Christians in Colleen's books make enough mistakes to keep them from being "plastic", and there is a lot of life evangelism going on. Another great offering from this wonderful author!

Colleen Coble is a wonderful author and her stories come to life. I loved this book. I found myself wishing that I lived in the same town and place as Tatiana and Gabe. I loved the ending of this book and I cant wait to read another book by this author.
