The poems in this book tell the story of a person who was lost in despair without God, and of how her life changed when she found Him, when she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The "Before Salvation" poems describe a lost soul trying everything she could find to find happiness-drugs, alcohol, men, anything that would cover up the pain and emptiness in her life. Nothing worked. The first poems are depressing but that is the state she was in. She hopes that those who are without God can identify with the poems that depict her desperate state. The poems after she found Jesus include some doubts in the beginning but, after trusting Jesus for everything, knowing that He is in control, they show her eventual peace through faith.
