review of the literature surrounding modern to post modern society

This book is an extremely valuable review of the social scientific literature surrounding the evolution of the concepts of industrial society through post industrial, the knowledge, technetronic and post modern, "post industrial" societies. It is an exercise in theoretical thinking that has been eye opening and very helpful in my efforts to catch up with the field.
