This Facilitator Guide is part of a curriculum that was initially created for use by groups of veterans experiencing loss due to the death of a loved one. The guide contains both background review and facilitation guidance as well as the pages in the participant guide. The curriculum is designed to address issues related to general and traumatic grief. It incorporates concepts from many experts in grief counseling as well as having been tested with numerous groups. Through mindful grounding practices, psychoeducation, process questions, activities, and homework assignments, participants begin to engage their grief reactions and adapt to their new reality.
