Challenging - Authentic - Poignant

Another opportuity for anyone dealing with grief to come to a safe place and explore their own emotions. This is a well-crafted, thoughtful treasure that allows people of all ages to confront their varied responses to difficult losses. Of particular interest are the activities and suggestions for continued thought included at the end of the book. The images allow one to dream while the text keeps a person grounded in difficult realities - a tricky balance to achieve that is done with grace and skill. Overall, this book is a gentle approach to confronting one's loss, and it allows the reader to begin a spiritual and healing journey in a creative and non-threatening way.

A New Beginning

Loosing my father tragically to suicide, feeling my life spiral out of control and seeing my 7 year old son and two teenage daughters deal with this loss, we were searching to make sense, find peace and help. This story allowed us to feel the pain, express our feelings, connect to our faith and begin the pathway to healing. Through Chris's journey we identified feelings and heart issues hidden deeply. Although written for a child, the child inside all of us cried out for healing. We were able to identify hurts, express feelings, experience unconditional love/acceptance and healing. This story is leading us to a renewed exciting faith journey.

Amazing.

This book was written about a close friend of mine, Chris Morrison, who lost his dad to cancer then only a few short months later was diangnosed with cancer on his 16th birthday and lost his battle with cancer January 13,2005 at the age of 16. I think the book is a great way for other people going through a similar situations to realize that they're not alone in the way they are feeling and that it's ok to feel this way. Ben did an excellent job. He used a poetry because Chris was such a big fan of Dr. Suess. You should definitely check this book out. =) There is also a new book in the series called, My Friend Matilda which talks about pet companionship. So look out for that one also. God Bless.
