THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION OF GOD'S LOVE

From Gravel to Glory is continually and profoundly impacting my marriage and my personal spiritual growth. This book helped me see that my life is a journey of ongoing transformation through which a loving God is daily building me into the person He wants me to be. I was relieved to discover that the building process is not supposed to be pleasant. God often allows pain for the purposes of our growth. Like most people, my reaction to suffering has been that of resistance. But now that my suffering has meaning, it ceases to be suffering and becomes an adventure to embrace. Gina Calvert demonstrates how our life experiences (good and bad) are related to becoming a house of God. In the past, I thought it was my job to make myself into the Christian I was meant to be, which made me the builder rather than the building. My old beliefs stemmed from legalistic teachings of God's temple which caused me to think I could achieve perfection and righteousness by properly following instructions. However, as good as I tried to be and as hard as I worked, my life was still full of anxiety, frustration, and addictive behaviors. It was painful to come to the realization that although I have tried to live a righteous life, be a good son, husband, parent, or employee, that in reality, I am actually a mess. This book brings purpose to my mess by providing a scriptural basis for the correct view of becoming a temple of God. Our temples are made of "me-stones" or "gravel" (anxiety, depression, pride, addictions, conflict, fear, etc) that He must deconstruct to make room for "God-stones" (trust, faith, joy, self-control, love, healing, etc). This book is organized into three Sections: 1. Open Your Eyes: Seeing the House Plans 2. Open Your Mind: Participating in the Building 3. Open Your Heart: Enjoying the House The first section helps us understand that we are being transformed by God and that pain is part of the process. The second section provides practical tools and encouragement to help us walk through the painful process of becoming who God want us to be. The third section paints a beautiful picture of the joy and love that we will experience when we allow God to bring us through our latest transformation cycle. This book is not meant to be read and applied only once. It is a reference manual that I pick up and review as God refines me through continual transformation cycles.

Anointed & Amazed

This book was more than an eye opener to me - it was moving and hopeful and healing. How comforting to know God wants me to have a relationship with Him and that He will use my bad choices and circumstances to make that happen...The practical use of this book has gone beyond use in only moments of crisis to every single moment...I can't wait to read it again!

fantastic book

From Gravel to Glory is thought provoking and challenging. Gina elaborates on Scripture in ways I had never thought of before and inspired me to examine my life and the foundational beliefs I have about God. As I read the last page, I was ready to read it again. I knew there was so much rich and applicable information that I couldn't wait to dive back in again. I loved Gina's transparency in her own life struggles and how she maps her own spiritual growth in the process. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to discover more about how God works to transform us into the likeness of His Son.

Buy It and Read It

Gina Calvert's "From Gravel To Glory" stopped me in my tracks. Within the first few pages, I had been hit over the head with the realization of my sinfulness and how God is changing me through my pain and suffering. Essentially, this book is an extended yet wonderfully written treatise on Romans 8:28. If you have ever wondered why God is doing what he is doing, this is one book you need to read. You may or may not like the answer - death to self is very, very difficult. Yet the answer Gina gives is true, for it is true to Scripture. Gina paints a very vivid picture of the Great I Am destroying you and replacing you with himself and his own dwelling place. I wholeheartedly recommend Gina's "From Gravel To Glory" for any reader. By opening herself up and allowing herself to be seen for what she really is, Gina has showed us what all of us really are - nothing but gravel. And yet, Gina's description of her own renewal through pain and suffering shows us what God wants to turn us into - glory.

From Gravel to Glory: Becoming a House of God is Inspiring

Sometimes in life, it is as if you are holding on by a thread. You may even doubt that God is hearing your cry for mercy. In Gina Calvert's first book, From Gravel to Glory: Becoming a House of God published by DeWard Publishing Company, Ltd., she reveals that God never wavers in His love and mercy for you. Gina Calvert adopts the belief that disclosing her own struggles to help guide you is a part of the building process to becoming a house of God--not for sympathy or to condemn, but that revealing will facilitate in your building process as well. The book of 176 pages is divided into three compelling and comprehensive sections Open Your Eyes: Seeing the House Plans, Open Your Mind: Participating in the Building Process, and Open Your Heart: Enjoying the House. You will be guided through this book with compassion and humility, resolution and depth, and many powerful scriptures. You will begin to see that God can turn your life From Gravel to Glory. Even if you have started to assign meaning to your pain, this book will help you to acquire deeper meaning and clearer insight. The first chapter Making Sense Out of Change will lay a foundation that God is there each step of your journey. Gina Calvert's From Gravel to Glory: Becoming a House of God will inspire you to not only rise above your pain, but to examine your pain and it's correlation in your building process.
