I wrote many poems during my 30s and 40s - a time of life when the cultural changes of the 60s and 70s were fading from my review mirror but, their far-reaching effects were fully felt in every aspect of daily life. For me, this was a particularly unsettling time of life as I navigated too many new realities. I found solace and direction by expressing my inner thoughts and emotions with poetry. Doing so definitely helped me better deal with many of life's uncertainties that I experienced at that time, coupled with the seeds of the global upheaval beginning to erupt everywhere; now, decades later, having grown to overshadow our entire planet as I write these words in the fall of 2023. Among all my creative pursuits, writing poetry has been the most essential endeavor to date.
