From El Norte to Cuatro Cienegas (and back)

Following my return home to San Antonio in April of 2014 after an extended trip to Puerto Vallarta in the Mexican state of Jalisco, I had formed a firm resolve that my next vacation to Mexico would be to a destination closer to home and far less expensive. I did some research online and settled on Cuatro Ci?negas in Coahuila. This was touted as one of the most recent "Magical Towns" in Mexico (and as it turned out, was not very 'magical').I did a lot more online reading and discovered I could take a Grupo Senda bus operated by Turimex to Cuatro Ci?negas, a distance from San Antonio of about 338 miles. What follows is an account of that trip (in large type of just under 4000 words) telling of the journey with all its trials and tribulations, plus the wonders I found in the Cuatro Ci?negas Biosphere Reserve. It's a journey that was eventually very rewarding.
