The linocuts of East Oakland artist Chamuco Cortez come to us inspired by a legacy of Mexican popular art. From the pre-revolutionary days of Jos? Guadalupe Posada, through the generations of the Taller de Gr?fica Popular, Mexico and its diaspora have a deep history of using art to translate community struggles and celebrations.
