Veronica Parker is a server at Wild Hickory Alcove, and she has been secretly seeing Chef Carlton, the Head Chef at their restaurant. Chef Carlton just happens to be engaged to Eve Masters, who's the Boss's daughter. Veronica and Carlton are developing real feelings for each other, and Carlton is hoping that one day Eve will leave him and he'll be free to love Veronica, but if Eve finds out about them, then Carlton could lose his job. One night, Eve comes into the restaurant with her friend, Lisa. Eve requests Veronica as her server, which is suspicious to Veronica because they barely know each other. Eve then requests from Veronica that Carlton come out and sit with her while she eats. After work that night, all the servers and Chefs go to a nearby bar to hang out and Eve just happens to show up with Carlton, hanging onto him the entire night. Veronica drinks and dances with fellow server, Rick Bellows, who happens to have a crush on Veronica and thinks that it would be fun to make Carlton jealous. After Rick walks up on Carlton and Veronica in a private moment in the parking lot, and finds Veronica upset, Rick takes Veronica home. Veronica feels conflicted with her feelings towards Carlton and Rick. Should she stay with Carlton, who she's falling in love with, although he's engaged and isn't fully available to her, or should she go with Rick, who she's just starting to develop feelings for, but he's fully available now?
