From Broken to Healed is Lucia Mudgway's debut collection of poems which tell the story of a journey from the pain of lost love and devastating human relationships to the healing that comes through discovering a world graced by nature, the joy of animals and the permanent love that comes from the Creator, God. The book opens with 'Broken, ' a story of the angst of unrequited love, and ends with 'Healed, ' the story of the restorative power of God's love which contrasts with the fickleness of human emotions. After finding happiness in landscapes, seascapes, and animals, the turning point finally comes with the appearance of God, who takes over the work of healing the broken heartedness that engulfs the opening poems. 'Moving Out' is a symbolic piece that not only tells of moving from one house to the next, but also of moving on from one spiritual state of despair to another of hope and happiness. Lucia Mudgway is a writer and mother, who is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts/ Humanities Degree at Tabor Adelaide.
