Even for non-parents, this is a wonderful book. I read this book cover to cover while I was sitting in my grandmother's kitchen with my own mother and it helped me remember that no matter what the situation is you will be far better off laughing through it.

a Must Have

Maggie has written uncandidly about the many phases of motherhood. I read the book cover to cover during the last few days of my Mothers life and was able to laugh out loud. It was very comforting during this time and I plan to revisit various chapters as they apply to the stages of my life. Maggie is gifted author with great perspective. A MUST READ FOR ALL!

I bought the book pre-sale, it is THE best read for ANYONE who has been married, has children, a woman, a man.. pretty much ANYONE! I HIGHLY suggest this book for anyone humble enough to know they are far from perfect! I am proud to say I know her and even more proud to say she instructed my college writing course! :D For anyone humble enough to realize that NONE of us are PERFECT.. this is DEFINITELY a read for you! If you DON'T read this book, you could be missing out on quite possibly THE best book of the year! A MUST read for EVERYONE!

Her snapshots of her household are like letters from your favorite college roommate-- always something to look forward to and reread. She describes midlife-mothering and menopause so that even non-moms and folks of all ages can relate, in a style somewhere between Jacquelyn Mitchard and Anne Lamott. Moms on my Christmas list, you'll be receiving a copy-- the rest of you will have to buy your own!
