The overwhelming love and grace of God is expressed in this true story of my life. I was raised in a single parent home in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood (located in Macon, GA) for the most of my upbringing. My mother made a decision to began following JESUS when I was about five years old and going to church, praying, and being taught the Word of God became normal in our life. As a young child on up to my teenage years I heard about JESUS often, I 'knew some things about' Him, but I didn't 'know' Him. I also saw and experienced a lot at a young age that influenced me in a negative way and around the age of fourteen I fell in love with the 'world' and began to rebel against my mother and the teachings of God. By the age of sixteen, I was highly involved in smoking marijuana, selling drugs, gang affiliation, sex, and more. I blended in with the culture around me and was willing to do almost anything to prove myself. I made so many bad decisions and my life began to fall apart. I was on downward spiral heading towards destruction. One day, my two friends and I decided to commit a robbery, which turned into three over a period of time before we were eventually captured and incarcerated. At the age of sixteen, I stood before a Superior Court Judge with four felony charges against me and great fear gripped my heart of what he could possibly do to me. I had no control over anything, my life was in his hands, so I thought. I was sentenced and life as I knew it in the "free world" was taken away from me. While incarcerated, my life as I had become to know it on the inside of those prison walls was interrupted by the most loving, gracious, caring, merciful, and solid person I know today. I began to understand that my life had been in His hands the whole time and when I thought my life was over, I was assured that my life had only just begun.JESUS Christ opened my eyes February 19th, 2005. The one whom I had often heard about growing up was now revealing Himself to me. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. I am amazed that He would leave the ninety-nine to come and rescue me, the one lost sheep. He changed (and is still changing) me and has given me a brand new life. Living in sin had me facing a "Death Sentence" before the Judge of all judges, but I surrendered my life to Him and He gave me a "Life Sentence" instead. May JESUS be glorified in my life forevermore and through this book that I believe He inspired me to write. I pray that God will use it to speak to you as you read how He transformed me "From a Convict to a Convert".You must be born again... (John 3:7)-Michael Berrian, Jr.
