Frog Knot Texas - Population 200 - is a story about hard working, friendly folks that lived and worked in rural northeast Texas. Everyone in the community was associated with farming or ranching in some capacity. The early 1970's.was a time before electronic devices ruled people's lives and neighbors were like family. If one of the family made a mistake, even though the community would condemn their actions, they were still family and treated as such. After a rash of cattle rustling neighbors began to suspect that it was someone from within the community. There were harsh words spoken among folks that had known each other their whole lives and some verbal encounters became physical. Shorty Northcut, cowboy turned Sheriff, was catching hell fire from everyone on all sides for not solving the mystery and bringing the rustlers to justice. Shorty had his suspicions, but didn't have sufficient evidence to make an arrest. There had never been a murder in Frog Knot; that was something that happened in other places, but it did, and who, why, and how it happened would shock and affect each and every person in the community.
