Fridgy, a state-of-the-art AI processor, wakes expecting to be a nexus controlling a "smart house"-- the family's link to the outside world, and in charge of the non-social, do-as-I-say appliances. Instead, due to component availability problems, he finds that he's actually a refrigerator. Trying to make the best of it as he tussles with Sage, the previous generation (un)intelligent nexus, he bonds with the human household (strictly against the rules), and finds that the Sage is the tip of a privacy-invading iceberg, an iceberg that very much doesn't like people and smart refrigerators snooping around. And, by "doesn't like," we mean REALLY doesn't like.
