Sweet book. The illustrations are fabulous but the story is a little thin. Would have given it 5 stars had my kiddo been more interested in it.
This is a great story for yet another generation of Radio Flyer lovers!

One Saturday a boy and his dad were up in the attic looking around. There was all kinds of junk up there. There was a box labeled costumes and another one labeled baby clothes. Over there he could see a hat, an ancient suitcase and a bicycle. Not very interesting things to look at, let alone play with. Oh, wait a minute there was his "dad's old Radio Flyer." On Sunday his dad took him for a ride in it and when they were out he glanced up at a biplane in the sky. By Monday he had his pilot's gear on his head and a cape over his shoulders and later that night he was thinking that "maybe that old Flyer could really move." He tinkered with it all the next day and by the evening it was really looking like a plane, but of course it rained on Wednesday and he wouldn't be able to fly it. Thursday every attempt ended in "tumble after tumble," but Friday was another day. Could an old Radio Flyer really fly? This is a very imaginative and fun story of a boy with a big imagination and knack for tinkering that made his dream come true. The text is minimal with only a word or sentence on each page, but the magnificent illustrations make this a highly visual read. If you're still missing your old Radio Flyer and would like to share your love for it, simply grab a copy of this book, dream and read away to yet another generation of Radio Flyer lovers!
