It is year 888. It is sixteen years since Harald H?rfagre gathered Norway to one kingdom, and fifteen years since Frida Ingunsdaugher was borne into slavery.

It is a time of turmoil. Even though Harald won the great battle of Hafrsfjord, the final victory did not result in peace and prosperity. The remains of the old elite lives in exile, from where frequent skirmishes and looting expeditions are lead.

Frida is sold only weeks after her mother disappeared under strange conditions. Without knowing, she becomes entangled into the currents and whirlpools boiling under the surface of the new nation.

Frida's goal is clear: Freedom and a hope to find out what happened to her mother.
